Lost cousin
I am searching for my first cousin on my mother's side of the family. My mother's last name is Gerber before she was married. She had two sisters and a brother Philip.
Philip married Rose and then Doris. Rose and Philip had a child named Elaine (1947, Philadelphia PA. I am registered on 23and Me, Ancestry.com and Family Search. I have been unsuccessful in locating Elaine (including BC/MC/ or DC).
Obituaries of Philip, Rose, Doris and Ronald (Elaine’s brother) all mention Elaine. 1950 Federal Census list Elaine as daughter to Philip and Rose Gerber.
Any help will be appreciated.
Take care
Michael

I suggest DNA testing and waiting, as well as checking for school and marriage records. Perhaps you can find her in a yearbook.

Hmm...looks like her parents both died when she was young. You say Doris' obituary also mentioned Elaine? When was that? Elaine born 1947, she's just 14 when her step-brother, Ronald died in 1961. When did Doris die? If she was still young, Elaine may have be put in foster care or adopted. You might look into probate records for her father and Doris. Depends on what her father wrote in his will...if Elaine doesn't get stuff until she was an adult, then the probate should keep track of her until she is grown.
