Question - Where is the child?
Hello, I started researching a new branch of my family and got stumped with a little mystery.
Here I found a beautiful marriage record of my ancestors:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9BTS-S2T?i=656&cc=1554443&cat=1061444 - last record on the page (I wish all records were this readable and had all these details)
From there I found both of theirs birth records:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-LBTS-38V?i=152&cc=1554443&cat=1061444 (Barbara - 52)
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-LBRY-98X6?i=697&cc=1554443&cat=1061444 (Joannes - 2nd page, 8th record)
They are both under "different" last names but there are lots of aliases used in this village, it's all in the records.
From here I went up a generation. Barbara's parents Caspar and Apolonia were married here in 1852: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-LBTS-3K9?i=44&cc=1554443&cat=1061444 (3)
The books are in a terrible state on like half the pages but I managed to find these kids for the couple: Barbara b. 1857,
Mária b. 1860 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GBTS-S1P?i=178&cc=1554443&cat=1061444 (41)), she later died here (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9BTS-3SY?i=336&cc=1554443&cat=1061444)
Anna b. 1863 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-8BTS-3X3?i=195&cc=1554443&cat=1061444 (1)), who died based on the note
and Fabianus b. 1866 (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-LBTS-3D4?i=211&cc=1554443&cat=1061444 (9)) who also died.
Apolonia then died shortly after the birth of her son here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-LBTS-34J?i=351&cc=1554443&cat=1061444 (7)
That should leave widower Caspar with 1 daughter, Barbara
Soon after his wife died, Caspar married again, to Juliana Gogola, also a widow, here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9BTS-34R?i=282&cc=1554443&cat=1061444 (19)
and they had a son Casparus in 1868 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GBTS-3SG?i=79&cc=1554443 (2)
So far all good. But then I went to look for the family in the 1869 census. Hradiste 25 as in Casparus' baptism record. Sure thing, I found them here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G99K-78WP?i=68&wc=QZ77-BY5%3A323642401%2C323983401&cc=1986782 - Caspar, Julianna, little Caspar and some other people who I suppose are Julianna's family (maybe kids from previous marriage?)
Next house is 25A, it also has Gogola family and the next house 26 actually houses Barbara's future husband Joannes Toman.
My question is: Where is Casparus' daughter from his marriage to Apolonia? Is it possible a 12 year old girl would already leave home to serve another family? Or am I following a different family by mistake?

I believe it was possible for a 12-year-old to be hired out as a servant-girl already. Just poking through randomly, I found a 14-year-old servant girl on image 41 (line 1.6): https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-899K-76JP?i=40&wc=QZ77-BY5%3A323642401%2C323983401&cc=1986782
Another possibility is that she was living with grandparents or other relatives. Or she could have been missed by the census-taker because of a temporary visit somewhere, or because of confusion about the identities of household members -- perhaps the enumerator thought that Borbála was a repeat of line 4, since the birth year matches.
1.1. Gáspár Maszar, married, farmer, independent, born Nyitra county, Kolos
2. Julia Maszar his wife, born K. Hradist.
3. his/her son István Bjelich, single, agriculture, assistant, K. Hradist.
4. Mária Gogola, single, K. Hradist
5. his/her son Gáspár Maszere, K. Hradist.
6. János Zuzin, single, servant, servant, Bars, Szkiczó.
Line 3 is confusing: he has to be Julia's son, but the surname is wrong. Was she already twice a widow when she married Gáspár? Can she really have managed two children in two years with different husbands, or is one (or both) of those birth years wrong? Perhaps line 4 is a conflation of Borbála and her stepsister?
For what (little) it's worth, in my experience, the birth years in this census are frequently off by a year or two, sometimes more, especially for adults and older children.

What I was thinking about the census is that István is Julianna's son from previous marriage. Her getting married as Julianna Gogola, I assumed that was her maiden name, not the name of her late husband. So I looked and found a deceased Stephanus Bjelich, husband of Julianna Gogola just two months before her next marriage, that was fast :D (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GBTS-SBH?i=211&cc=1554443&cat=1061444 - 44)
I have no idea who exactly Maria Gogola is... I went through baptism records from 1855 to 1860, I didn't find anyone with this name. Tho... Some of the pages are ripped and hard to read so maybe she is there, can't be completely sure.
I didn't find István either tho, so now I'm questioning everything again :D
PS: Tomorrow I'm going to try finding out whether Barbara was living in some other household in Hradiste or Klíž
