New English Records added April 2022

Except the additions to the latter collection probably don't relate to Northumberland Non-conformist church records!
Unfortunately, this collection is a mixture of Anglican and non-conformist records relating to records for the counties of both Northumberland and Durham. A very misleading title. I would encourage researchers to search this collection if they suspect their relatives lived in either county and belonged to any denomination. I requested it to be re-titled or split according to content, but FamilySearch Support believes this to be unimportant.

Hello Paul
Thank you for your very to the point comments. The predicament of poorly referenced record collections is sadly quite common in the FamilySearch record bases, but I don't think FamilySearch Support believes these instances of what you might term misrepresentation, are unimportant because accuracy in our Family Trees is all-important.
Record collections are often wrongly defined because a place name will be correct but the geographical area it is represented in is way off the mark, which means a whole set of records, although correct in themselves, are not represented in the true geographical area. We need to vigilantly feedback about these issues, because they hamper our research in a major way. I can say that all these issues are being addressed, but perhaps not with the alacrity we might desire.
Might I add, if people such as yourself keep feeding back in the way you have done, the influence you will have, and need to have, will be a blessing for us all.
Thank you again Paul.
