That's not much to go on, unfortunately. Piacenza is both a comune (town) as well as a province containing many separate towns. The records are kept on a town by town basis, and for this era, they would have been church records, kept on a church by church basis. So you might start by looking in Piacenza (the town) but he might have been from another town.
There are church records for the town of Piacenza in FamilySearch, but they are not computer indexed so you would need to search them by browsing the images from the record books:

@parkermike1 Ah, I see you have given more information here. What other records do you have for Pietro in addition to the 1871 British Census. Have you spoken with family members who might know something? Do you have a death certificate that might give more information?

pietro married a martha penelope harries in 1873 and died in 1919
he appears in the 1891 and 1901 censuses.
unfortunately all the family members who would know have passed away
in the 1871 census he was living with a number of italian people, who are all it seems are muscians
what im really after is his family and also how he got here?
