Looking For adopted Sister
I am looking for a sister born between July 1952 and June 1953 in a home for unwed mothers in the state of NY. Would you have any leads for me?👩⚖️
I have checked family sources, looked for unwed mothers homes, and did a DNA test. I look threw DNA matches often, looking for a close relative that could be her.
Mothers name was Mary Kathleen Cady she was 16 years old, living in Troupsburg, NY being raised by her grandparents; both her parents were killed in a Car accident in Jasper, NY 1944. The accident hit all the newspapers. Her grandparents sent her to the home and kept everything Hush Hush. No one was to know that Mary was pregnant. She had a baby girl, 8 & 1/2 pounds, it would have been summer time. The home did not want the mothers to know the date that their babies were born. The mothers were not to exchange last names with one another, they did not have access to the outside world, or calendars. Mother was told that the baby went first to a Lady Judge in Hornell, NY but with in the first year was moved to a couple in Long Island. The adoption was handled by the welfare. Mother named the baby Shirley Jean, there is no evidence if the name remained the same or was changed.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Mother later married Clayton Robinson, He was not the baby's father and I do not know who was. I am a child of Clayton and Mary Robinson. I would love to meet my sister.

Consider moving your Raw Data to MyHeritage (Free to upload). You might get a match there.

I think your best chance of finding your sister is through DNA testing. Perhaps she or a child has also been tested and you will get a match. I recommend AncestryDNA because it is the largest database, and you can move your results to some of the other DNA sites. Good luck.
