What is the name that should be used - Marelina or Margarethe?
I would like to record the correct name (in FS and my family records) for a girl child in the Roze family unit who was born in 1842 and died in 1861 (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/G69F-Q89).
It seems from the baptism records that she was baptised as Marelina Eildina Roze on 10 Sep 1842 …

I usually use the baptism name when recording names, but in this case I am not sure because her name at burial on 21 Mar 1861 seems to be quite definitely Margarethe Roze …

I want to make the records that I enter in to FS as accurate as I possibly can.
Thank you for posting any comments you may have in regards to this question.

@Ian.Perry In the baptism record, her name is written as Mardina Eildina (Rooze), but in the death record, it is shown as Margarethe Rose (the rest of the information seems to match, such as her age and the names of her parents, though her father's surname is written as Rose and not Rooze).

@KamillaKovacs3 : Thanks Kamilla. I'm certain it is the same person but was wondering why the name changed so much and which one would be best to use. I was told when I was learning how to input family data to always use a person's name at birth otherwise it can cause complications for matching other records later that depended on that name - unless they used a name all their life and was only known by that name. I guess there is no way to resolve this particular case.
I appreciate your help.🙂
