Hi dwhull, I know it looks strange but these are the records you found I added them into memories then into a document. (My much younger sister showed me how to do this) Elisabeth Steen who is also apart of this tree said it should be made into a source so she listed them as sources saying Hornum.

Hi, I have asked Elizabeth to correct the parish to Stouby parish. Yes I would like the image numbers and Arkivalieronline site references. Thank you. I see a Annette Hjerrild kjellerup has already added the daughter Mariane. I am just a beginner at this. I only started this past mid December. So I am slow at doing this but I am learning. Nancy

Hi dwhull, I looked at what you think is the christening of Hans Sorensen and I don't think this is him. Look two lines past the last Hans and you will see Hans Rasmusen Gammelby 1758 image 15.

Oops sorry dwhull I didn't realize there are two Hans's being christened.

The 1771 record for a Bodil Sørensen is image #35 of Arkivalieronline 1752-1790.
The 1758 record for a Hans Sørensen is image #15 of Arkivalieronline 1752-1790. I guess you found this one.

Mariane's confirmation is 1815-1825 image 126 no. 4. Interesting it lists her birth as 6 October. The christening record looks like 26 October. I thought it might show Bodil as a widow to address whether or not Hans died in 1810. I did not find any indication.
But, on image #63 of Arkivalieronline 1790-1814 on the right hand column near the bottom a marriage record. [Married] 22 December [1810] bachelor Tarnild (maybe Terhild or Terkild) Thomsen and widow Bodild Sørensdatter of Skoven. This is a key record as it confirms that Hans Sørensen dies in 1810 just after Søren is born (also found on image 63 - left side bottom). It also reveals that this Bodild Sørensdatter is the daughter of Søren Rasmussen who is about 5 years old in 1787. The mother may or may not be Karen Sørensdatter because the census says the two children (Bodild and Johanne) are children of the 1st marriage. By the age listed it is likely that it is the first marriage, but it needs to be verified.
This Bodil Sørensen dies in 1832 and is listed as Terkild Thomsen's wife (relating back to the 1810 marriage). Arkivalieronline 1823-1834, image 185. Her age at burial is 50 years. Which lines up with being about 5 years old in 1787. Her christening record showing her father, Søren Rasmussen, can be found on image #54 of Arkivalieronline 1752-1790.
[Baptized] Same date. Søren Rasmussen's daughter in Skoven [named] Bodild.
This tells me that Hans Sørensen christened in 1758 that was found is correct, and dies in 1810. The Bodil Sørensdatter christened in 1771 is not correct. The correct one is christened in 1782.
So, there may be other children of Terkild and Bodil, need to figure out Hans Sorensen's father's last name, and verify Bodil's mother.

If you want to do the temple work yourself, I recommend that as soon as possible you request the temple work. I have had experience where someone finds the green temples and reserves it sometimes before it is fully sourced or before you think they are ready. You can always share the names with others you choose later.
I think you can still make changes (e.g. add sources, etc.) to the records after reserving.

Hi dwhull, just Wow. I can't believe you found all this information. Thanks, you have helped me out so much. Thank you. When I married my Danish husband who's middle name is Skov just like his two sisters and their father and his siblings when I was expecting my first child my father in law said to me with a friendly smile that I will name it also Skov for a middle name. Both my son's have Skov for middle names and know I see where the Skov comes from. Skoven I googled it and found Skoven on the map of Denmark.
Yes I would like to request the template . I have never done this before. I need to learn how to? Nancy

Hi dwhull, I would like to take you up on a zoom with you. Could you send the link through my email address that is on family tree. Nancy

The best days for me for a ZOOM would be Friday, March 11 or Saturday, March 12 afternoon or evening. I am in Mountain Standard Time. Is there a good date and time for you?
I found the death/burial record for Bodil's second husband Therkild Thomasen in 1844 age 67. He also appears in the 1840 census.
It would seem that if the son Niels Therkildsen is 15 in 1840 he would have been born while Bodil was alive and is likely her son.

Hi dwhull, I'm in Eastern standard time so you are 2 hours earlier than me.. A Friday or Saturday afternoon would be great for me. Whichever is best for you. So say you at 1:00 in the afternoon on Friday that way I will be 3 in the afternoon. Thanks . Nancy

No success figuring out Hans Sorensen's father's sir name. Below is the christening record for Hans again and two possible siblings. The mother is not mentioned. No luck finding a marriage record. The word after Sørren appears to start with "Sk" (combined letters) like Skoven.
These two may be your ancestors.

Hi dwhull, sorry I will have to cancel our zoom . I don't understand why the church's Ministers would not read and have these old documents digitized recorded properly. They are the ones who wrote these documents and would understand what was written. Nancy

Hi dwhull, I would like to thank you for all your help. These last three documents that you found I will keep them. I have sent an email to the Danish church of Toronto asking if there is a group or person who is skilled in reading old Danish church documents and is willing to help me. I think I will stop for now on this line and work on another line of my tree that is really messed up. Thanks again,. Nancy

You are very welcome. I have a few items I found that haven't provided yet.
I found the following burial record for Elizabeth Kirstine Sørensen, image 13 Arkivalieronline 1752-1790 (D10), in 1757
Also another child (I read as Kirsten) image 19 in 1761
When you get back to this, it appeared that Kirsten may be found in the 1787 census but I didn't confirm. It looked like maybe the identity of the mother could possibly be obtained.
I don't believe it is father Søren's real sir name, only a discriminator, but comparing the records it appears to me that the discriminator word may be "Skiølte". Maybe the Danish church can help with that. I would be interested if they are able to help you. I am willing to help again if the need arises.
