Is it okay to post a ward indexing event on Just Serve?

Well....I actually would suggest that family history activities fit nicely in that description. Gathering events help connect us as community members and enhance our quality of life. I would also say that those on the other side waiting for us to find them are "needy...." Not only that, but I have seen indexing events posted on JustServe in my area. You'll want to ask your local JustServe specialist to see what they say for sure. You can contact your stake Communications specialist (formerly the Public Affairs specialist) to find out who that is. That said, JustServe is not well known yet in communities so you might need to go a step further to get the message out. So you could use that post as something to send people who you think might be interested, and it makes it a little more official than just a random email to the local genealogical society.

@CynthiaVanDam CynthiaVanDam I think this is a great answer! Probably the best idea is to check with your local stake Communications specialist.

Don't laugh to hard when I tell you that I am on the Public Affairs/Communications Committee. We were talking about posting something because we want to get people to use Just Serve. This seemed like a way to seed the bed with something to do. I was just checking here that it didn't violate some rule about indexing. So thanks. And sending a note about it to local genealogical communities is an excellent idea.

Yeh - Ive been surprised why there hasnt been much more use of Just Serve - not just for indexing - but for genealogical related service projects in general.
