This seems off in Family Tree - what do you think?
I'm working on Friedrich Karg von Bebenburg (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LTQC-29Y). Since he was born in the early 1600s, I don't have a whole lot of information on him, but I'm trying to squeeze anything I can out.
His family was pretty wealthy, and I have a whole book filled with information about the family tree from about the late 1500s to the late 1800s. According to this book (see https://digital.ub.uni-duesseldorf.de/ihd/content/zoom/8425365, you'll want to look on the previous page for context), it seems like Friedrich was the son of Andreas Karg. Friedrich was born in 1610 (according to information given later in the book). It also seems that Andreas had some children with his wife, Barbara: Elisabeth (1583), Margaretha (1586), Albertus (1588), and twins Johannes and Conradus (birth year unknown).
It seems pretty clear (according to this document) that Johannes married a woman named Dorothea and had two daughters with her in 1603 and 1606.
However, there's a bit of a disconnect between this source and what I'm seeing on Family Tree, where Friedrich is listed as the son of Johannes. So according to Family Tree (and I don't see any attached sources documenting this relationship), Friedrich is the son of Johannes, while, according to the family genealogy book, Friedrich is Johannes's younger brother.
Could you please provide any thoughts that you have as to who Friedrich's father is (in other words, is Andreas Karg Friedrich's father or grandfather)?
Thanks!

The book you've linked says that Wolf was the father of Endres/Andreas Karg/Karich and that Endres/Andreas married Barbara and had 6 children, including a Friedrich born in Schesslitz sometime after 1588. After listing the first five children of Endres, the book states that all of them disappear from the records of Bamberg except Hans Karg/Karich, who marries Dorothea and has two daughters, Margaretha and Anna (and after that, Hans also disappears from the Bamberg records). So, I agree that Hans must be the Johannes who was listed as a son of Endres, as a twin of Conradus, and as born after Albertus (i.e., after 1588).
The book also clearly states that Friedrich is the son of Endres/Andreas, as you suggested and unlike what the Family Tree currently shows.
I wanted to see whether Friedrich's father was listed in his marriage, but he is not; however, you might like to know that Friedrich and Eva were married on 12 May 1642 in the Catholic parish of Bamberg (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJY-29CR-Y?i=96&cat=197287).

Thank you so much!!!
And also, thank you for the link - I'd looked, but I'd somehow never realized that there were some of the Bamberg Catholic records on FamilySearch - I thought you had to actually go to Germany to see those!
Thanks again!

Also, are you sure it's saying that Johannes was born after 1588? It says that he had children in 1603 and 1606. Or could Hans and Johannes be different people?
Also, the source seems to suggest that Friedrich was born around 1610 (this is on a family tree sheet at the back of the book I attached). What should I make of that?
