Translation:
Number: 9.
Baptismal day: 1 Apr 1872.
Birth day 12 Mar 1872.
Baptismal name of the child: Karl Otto.
Names, occupation, and residence of the parents: Johannes Fischer, tenant in Kaltenherberg, citizen in Haltingen, and Amalia, née Kaufmann.
Names, occupation(s), and residence(s) of the baptismal sponsors: August Schmidt, baker in "Thumringen" [Tumringen], for the year in Basel; Theodor Ohenbacher?, unmarried baker and innkeeper in Haltingen; Albert Eurich, unmarried, "Rößlerwirth" in Hertingen; Sophia B_u__lin?, unmarried in Haltingen; Barbara Bürgü?, unmarried from there; Sophia Spahlinger, unmarried from Hertingen.
Remarks: Informed from the Parish of Haltingen on 5 April 1872.
My comment: There is no mention of this child being named after a recently deceased brother. But it would not be uncommon for parents to name the next child of the same gender after a recently deceased sibling. Further, it would not be uncommon for this naming in honor of a deceased elder sibling to not be mentioned in the subsequent birth/baptismal record.
