Help to read marriage record Johann Sieben & Christina Grimm, Mainz, 1831
I am mainly interested in the translation of the last handwritten paragraph where it talks about the witnesses and how the are connected to the couple:
I am trying to link the witness Martin Schreiber to the bride's family but I can't make out the crucial word:
Martin Schreiber 46 Jahre, Ackersmann in Mommenheim wohnhaft ? der Braut
Likewise the other witness Matthias ? 62 Jahre Ackersmann in Ebersheim, ? des Bräutigams
Thanks for your counsel
James

Hello James,
The word of interest is "Oheim" which most typically translates as: uncle. The modern Harper Collins unabridged German-English dictionary (2004) translates this as "uncle" as does Google Translate. Ernest Thode, German-English Genealogical Dictionary, translates "Oheim" as: uncle; mother's brother; grandfather.
Here is a link about the word "Oheim" from Wikipedia: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Oheim
I read Mathias' surname as: Nauth.

Thank you @Robert Seal_1 !
This is the breakthrough I have been looking for everywhere and I would never have guessed that word.
This will allow me to authoritatively link my ancestors to a whole extended clan!
Regards,
James
