FamilySearch Memories app
In order to make family history feel more accessible and relevant to members of the Branch, we held an activity where we introduced the Memories app, We showed members what it could do by hooking up a mobile phone to 'cast' to the meetinghouse TV screen. We showed pictures, documents, shared stories and played audio stories recorded by family members.
We then broke into groups and had them create one of the memories on the app. Those with phones and the app were encouraged to record an audio memory about an ancestor. We had a lot of positive engagement sharing interesting stories and memories, and learning more about each other in the process.

This activity sounds like a lot of fun. What did you use to connect the phone to the TV? I have an Android phone. How would I record audio memories. Is there a tutorial to learn these tricks you are using with the phone?

We bought a map of the US and for Family Home Evening we had the children trace their pioneer family from New York to the Salt Lake Valley. We read stories from the family history books the family has recorded. For dessert we ate covered wagon cookies.
