    Good evening!

Any assistance and/or support as I am trying to find or locate the Birth Certificate/Baptism/Marriage of Manuel Reyes FS ID # G771-&SC. He was married to Florentina Holguin FS # ID G77B-TG2. The end state to find out who his parents were. I have exhausted all the options I can think of.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciate.

@JoseReyes7 Hi Jose, I looked through the FamilySearch Catalog to see if there were available marriage records for Moca, Espaillat, Dominican Republic which is where their oldest son was born. I found this FamilySearch film #637002 which has marriages listed for the probable time-frame of their marriage.

Have you looked at it for their marriage? If you have, have you tried a radial search of the surrounding areas? Take a map and write a 2" circle around the parish/town of Moca. Then look through all of the surrounding parishes/towns. As you find them, check each one for their marriage record. I have found a few of my ancestors this way.

(https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/catalog/koha:16795) This is where I found the parish records of where their first son was born.

@LoveSunshine62 Good afternoon! Thank you for the quick response. I truly appreciate it.

I have looked through this film. It is very scattered and missing a lot of years. I did not have a ny luck with it.

My mystery is that he and his wife pop up in so many documents but yet none of the 3 documents I am looking/searching for can be found.

The Iglesia de la Altagracia in Santiago I have also searched through. I believe this one had a big fire in 1863 and lot of the documents were destroyed.

Please let me know of other options or ideas you might have.

    Thank you

    Jose

@JoseReyes7 I understand the frustration as well. I have been looking for a ancestors birth in England in the area he says he was born and have had no luck finding his birth. So here is what I am doing!

Do a radial search of the surrounding parishes.

Take a map and write a 2" circle around the parish/town of Moca. Then look through all of the surrounding parishes/towns. As you find them, check each one for their marriage record. I have found that other parishes have baptisms of children living in the same town that my ancestor came from. That is how I am searching now.

Also, see if the FamilySearch WIKI links for this area may help you out!

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Moca,_Espaillat,_Dominican_Republic_Genealogy

There are many different helps for your region here, look at the guideline on the left, and through all of the links on the right.

I hope that you will find some helps within the above links!
