Problem in Name Handling Routine?

Here is another data flag that is going to confuse people and make them think the Data Quality Score routine can't read its own data, I think, unless I am missing something.

Laurentze Karine Gundersdatter has the following flag:

There is only one source with that particular spelling of the first part of her first name. It is this one:

Here, the name on the record is presented as just "Name" without divisions.

However, going to the original document and checking the actual indexing one sees:

Here she is clearly indexed as having no last name. Somewhere between the actual index and the data quality flag, that fact got lost.

To make this a bit more confusing, the other source with the same information from the second parish record (these were kept in duplicate as insurance against fires) is indexed just the same:

The source looks the same:

but it does not generate a quality flag. I cannot seen that any editing has been done to the index and no flags have been dismissed. For some reason the fact that she has no last name in this second source is preserved.

I'll leave the flag in place in case a programmer wants to try to analyze what is going on here and what is different with these two sources.

@Gordon Collett Thanks for the feedback!

This may be a side effect of a previous decision to split the given name into parts when there was no surname present. We'll have an engineer look at this and see if we can come up with a solution.

    Thanks!
