Duplicate marriage events
Is there a quick way to see if a marriage has two or more events without having to enter the relationship screen? Why does the system not show an error when there is more than one marriage event between the same couple?

@Loïc Baert Hi, The problem with what you are asking is that there are several different marriage events to include marriage, divorce, common law marriage, lived together, and annulment. Sometimes, couples marry, divorce, and then marry again.

I've requested at least a couple of times that all Couple Relationship Events be shown right there on the profile details page under the Family Members section instead of hiding them. I posted my suggestion mock-up in this discussion about troubles with editing and displaying couple events:
Clearly there should be no data quality flags for different couple events on different days since a couple could have many events in their history as Wayland mentions or even for the same event type on different days since that can happen. But should there be a flag for more than one copy of the same event on the same day? That could be useful.

from my experience, marriage events seem a little complicated due to the fact that many times the information related to the Marriage License is entered (and sourced) for the Marriage field rather than the actual marriage information.

@Gordon Collett Your suggestion is really the thing we need so that we can see everything at once with all the different types (Banns, etc). Another improvement would be to be able to attach sources that pertain to the relation directly from the source list without the need to go to the source box.

I Suggested an Idea about the sources aspect of this in Nov 2024. Obviously it's hidden from view but here's what I said:
'Joined-up management of Profile and Relationship Sources
Relationship sources are currently very hard to manage, or even to see, via the FT user
interface, and Research Helps do not appear to take them into account.I suggest that the Sources tab is enhanced to show both profile sources and also sources
attached to the profile's relationships, distinguishing clearly between the two types of source but allowing easy management of both. And, similarly, could Research Helps be enhanced to handle profile and relationship sources in a joined-up way?'
No response of any sort to date.

As @Gordon Collett mentioned in another post, "We are told that helpful insights posted here do make it to the engineers even if not posted to the Suggest An Idea section."
Is there a possibility to tag some engineers to some of the more pressing posts so they are aware of the problem?
When attaching an event related to a relation which is not a marriage (marriage banns, marriage registration, …), it goes to the "events" section of the profile page of only one of the two persons. When the bride is the focus person in the source linker, it goes to the groom and vice versa. This is another point in favor of the improvements mentioned in the post by @Gordon Collett of 31 December 2025.

The Engineers do not generally identify themselves in the general Community - probably with good reason. They would likely be inundated with requests that would take time away from their primary work.
In the Groups, particularly those marked as Feedback for new or Beta projects, the Engineers do make themselves known.

Thank you @Áine.ní.Donnghaile for sharing this information. I did not know that specific groups existed.
Should I repeat some request that I made in the past in the general community to those specific groups? Or should I only post new requests in those groups?
