Errors on Records
I notice if a record is indexed incorrect on here that the same error shows up on Ancestry.com too the same way. Now we have the capability to edit records here in a lot of places and when I do my research I certainly take the time to fix those indexing errors so that it matches what is written and what it should say. Records on Ancestry have that capability too if an image is available to see but a great many of records don't have images available because they are only available here so you can't edit there if there's nothing to see or an image isn't associated with the record.
My question is, if I edit that record here, will that correction eventually make it to Ancestry since the same error seems to have come from here to begin with and now that it's been edited or corrected will it filter through the system and make it there? Do these two platforms work together like that?

Some indexes are shared among the various genealogy websites. Some indexing by volunteers for FamilySearch was shared with partner websites. Ancestry and FindMyPast have collaborated on some indexing projects, particularly the Irish Roman Catholic registers. However, an edit made on one website does not propagate to other websites.

So in other words, how Family Search originally put it out there is how it stays for other sites. Our editing and fixing those mistakes after the fact will only correct it here now, unless the ability exists on the other platforms to do the same.

Both Ancestry and FindMyPast have the option to edit the index. In fact, both of those platforms offered the option to edit long before we could do so on FamilySearch.

You can only edit on Ancestry if an image is there. The text only entries do not have that capability and a lot of my research from places only has the image here so that's how I was able to confirm that they belong to certain people. I work on my trees in both these places.

Maybe on that record it's available but it's not available everywhere or else I probably would be using it. See, here's a good example right here:
