My wife has a different personal id on her Family Search tree than the one I have for her on mine. And she has a different id for me on her tree than I have on mine for myself. How can we correct this?

@RobFink When you first started using FamilySearch, you will have created a profile for yourself. Because that profile is for a living person, it is visible only to you. When you created a profile for your wife, that profile is also visible only to you. Any other profiles that you create for living people will also be visible only to you, whether they are related to you or not.

The same applies to your wife, so she will have created profiles for living people (such as yourself). Those profiles will be visible only to her.

The corresponding profiles for a specific person are not synchronised in any way. They can contain contradictory data. There is nothing for you to "correct".

There is a way that you can share profiles of living people. There is relatively-new functionality called Family Groups and Family Group Trees. This allows you to create new shared profiles for living people. If you were to create a Family Group and a Family Group Tree, you could allow specific users that you nominate to create and update shared profiles for living people. Only those people that you nominate can see those profiles. There is more information on this in the these articles in the FamilySearch Help Center: What are FamilySearch family groups? and What are family group trees?.

One other thing that might be helpful to you is to check out the "Together App" under the activities tab on FamilySearch, or you can go to this link to learn more. https://www.familysearch.org/en/mobile-apps/

The "family groups" is a great way to connect your living family members. The Together app is a companion to your family groups and a private social network that can help you connect with ancestors and living family to share photos and family stories. It enables you to save meaningful memories before it's too late.
