I see on several people I follow that photos were deleted on 12/15/25 by Family Search staff without notification. How can I see what was deleted and why?

Thanks, Steven

    @StevenPreston4Thanks for the context. @AmberML1 is there a way to know what was detached and why? You can see it in the change log for G9YS-DB3

    @StevenPreston4

    Let's look at the G9YS-DB3 example…..You can see in the change log (from the person's page), that a photo was attached by a KAYWITZ on July 19, 2020—but you will notice you cannot see what the image is. This was the photo that was removed by FamilySearch.

    You did not upload the photo, and it was likely removed from KAYWITZ's Gallery as FamilySearch is going through and working to make sure all users are adhering to the Upload Guidelines (you can look them over at this link). When a photo gets restricted, KAYWITZ (the uploader) will get a notification.

    You will see the "detach" happened on Dec 15 (by FamilySearch). And you will see I tried to "Restore" the image—but their was no content, meaning the image is removed—so my "attach" didn't add anything.

    Sorry, you will not be able to view this image.

    Here is another (lengthy) discussion about this same topic….you can see what others have said/done/suggested:

    Thank you both for the input. Hopefully we don't loose any valuable pictures this way.
