Profile's name and lifespan on profile page may be truncated
Here are examples from two people named Fanny Laing. One has birth and death dates, and the death date has been truncated with an ellipse.
The other has no dates, and the name has been truncated with an ellipse.
This appears to have started after an update in the last day.

I started seeing the same thing about 2 hours ago

I am also experiencing this issue today. Is it a new design or a glitch created from whatever work was done yesterday?
If you scroll down the page a bit a new header appears at the top with full name but birth and death in years only.

I was also seeing the same late yesterday and still today (Tuesday, 16 Dec 2025).
Of course, I have hundreds of profiles to repair due to the recent malicious destruction I documented in another thread.

How do we bring this to the attention of the Web Site Programmers and get a commitment to get it fixed?

@Ronald P. Tilby I've flagged the thread for moderator/staff attention. I believe it is already on the fix list, but it wouldn't hurt to get confirmation of that.

Does anyone know why the name of the person on the detail page has been shortened to …. on the end instead of the whole last name?

@Carole McIntyre could you please send a screenshot and give the PID of the person you are looking at? This is on the details view of the person page, correct?

The problem is caused by the introduction of new css-style variables like class="cellCss_ch6lxlx"

Why is M1C7-6LC (Howell Phillips) only showing up as Howell Phill…? It is the same for his dad, but not his grandpa. I have played with Zoom both in Windows and Chrome. I have edited his name and looked for an extra letter. I know his name is correct under his name in the details, but not on top of the page. Yes, I know it does not affect his tree, but it is just a small thing that I can't explain.

@HJ Harvey Robbins this has been happening for about 24 hours. As in previous comments above the engineers are aware of the issue.

I don't know if this helps, but I have noticed that in each of the cases listed above, as well as in each of the cases I found on FamilySearch where this happens, it's almost always the last two or three characters of the person's name or lifespan that are replaced by an ellipsis.
