search for associated family members?
I've inherited a considerable number of very old photos, many of them labeled. Sometimes I have a photo that has a person's name and I know they are related to other people I've worked on but I'm having a hard time finding them (especially women whose given last name I don't have.) Are they a sister, an aunt, a grandmother? I'm wondering if on an individual's page, there is a way to search for an associated family member. For instance, could I be on "John Doe"s page and search for an "Ethel" family member?

I have a snapshot that was labeled "John's Girl" - I knew who John was (he died before I was born) so I simply labeled the same girl in another group photo as "John's girl" then posted the photo and went on with my research on John, hoping that someone else working on John's line would recognize the girl by full name. With that in mind you might try Family Bible sites, emailing other living family members or friends of the deceased that you might know, DAR, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, local historical societies, newspaper archives, etc. Best wishes

What you are asking for isn't currently possible on FamilySearch. It's a great idea, though, and you can share it on the "Suggest An Idea" page.
In the meantime, though, I like @maryellenstevensbarnes1 approach….do what you CAN do. I recommend uploading the pictures you have and TAGGING all of the people you do know/have information about. Those images are now available for anyone to see. From there, it becomes a good chance that people viewing those ancestors and those photos might be your best opportunity to add more detail and fill in the "blanks."
Good luck! You're doing amazing work!
