Starting a new person
Hi. Is there a straightforward way to start an entirely New person onto the Tree.
Up to now I've been doing this by adding the New Person as a relative to an Existing person then removing the New person from the relationship. But this method is far from ideal - it alerts people who a following the Existing person to an irrelevant change, and may send people who are looking at the change log up an unnecessary rabbit hole.
Is there a better method to start a New person without these unnecessary consequences?

@johnbonn if you scroll to the bottom of your Recents list, there is a button to 'Add Unconnected Person'.

Perfect. Thanks Mandy.
I'd seen that button but hadn't paid any attention to it because it's location suggested it had something to do with adding a person to my Recents list. Now I know better.
Cheers

@johnbonn Check out the Knowledge Article (KA) about unconnected person - https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-add-an-unconnected-person-to-family-tree. They have a couple of tips/tricks that might be useful.

@johnbonn You are not alone. Took me a while to figure this out myself… Seems like an alternate location for this type of action would be in the 'Tools' section

Mazy, sorry, it may just be me, but that link is not working from here ('Well, this is unexpected...')
