Can source linker be used to attach an outside source?

I am adding sources that are not found in familysearch, for instance a page out of a transcribed/translated baptism book. Can I use source linker to attach this source to the various people found in the source?

No, you can't use Source Linker for that purpose — it can only be used for FamilySearch records, which contain metadata that identifies the people and their roles within the record. Non-FamilySearch sources do not contain that metadata and thus are not compatible with Source Linker.

If you want to attach an outside source to multiple people, I would highly recommend that you put the source in your Source Box. Then you can easily attach it to many different people in Family Tree.

Great. Thanks for that answer. I assumed that was the case and I do put them in my source box and attach from there.

You can also use a free app called RecordSeek to attach extenal sources:
    https://recordseek.com/

A few months ago I experienced problems with the RecordSeek Chrome browser extension. I don't know if they're fixed yet. However, the RecordSeek home page has a green button which you can drag to your Bookmark bar (or whatever it may be called in the browser you use). I find that RecordSeek works perfectly from the Bookmark bar.

If you have questions, please let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.
