Would appreciate help reviewing sources on a tree.
Regarding Reuben Adams LH2F-C3K. I am new to this and do not want to mess up anyone's tree. I believe there is an error with the parentage of this Reuben Adams. I added a discussion on the collaborate tab. I would appreciate someone reviewing this to see what they think. The added parents look to be done back in 2012 by Family Search Staff.

@dheinz I looked through the change notes and only see Robert Adams LCCW-DCH and Rachel Wheeler LHGT-PXZ as his parents. Who do you think it should be?

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. I think his parents are unknown at this time. I believe the Reuben born to Robert Adams and Rachel Wheeler, died in 1800, per A GENEALOGICAL HISTORY OF HENRY ADAMS, BRAINTREE, MASS., AND HIS DESCENDANTS. COMPILED AND EDITED BY ANDREW N. ADAMS. Published 1898. (Page 122) and Genealogical and Encyclopedic Hist. of the Wheeler Fam. in America. By Albert Gallatins Wheeler. Boston. Published 1914. (Page 1070). I have not been able to find any documentation linking the Reuben Adams who died in 1838, to Robert and Rachel (Wheeler) Adams.

I should have included:
From the Henry Adams book:
Reuben, b. in Chelmsford, March 12, 1783; d. in Norfolk, Va., 1800.
From the Wheeler Family book:
REUBEN ADAMS, born March 12, 1783; d. 1800.

I added the Cemetery Name from the attached FindaGrave Source.

I added his surname to Alt Name.
I updated Language Template for all names to 'English'.0 -
I would recommend removing the Custom Fact for FindaGrave since the Sources are attached.

I see that his Name has 18 Sources but there are 22 Sources on the Sources Page. Looking at the Sources Page there are 2 Christening records with 0 Tags and 2 others as well. I am updating those Sources (for all attached persons) so that all tagged info in those sources will be reflected on the Details Page.

Regarding who added the parents . . . (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
I read somewhere that a software change happened in 2012. All the records were changed from listing the actually usernames who did work prior to 2012 and were replaced with the "FamilySearch" username. When you see that username "FamilySearch" did the work, it is most likely due to that software update and was not done manually by a human being on the FS staff/volunteer.
I can't recall seeing any change records before 2012.

I reviewed the marriage info and removed 2 duplicate marrage entries.

Thank you all so much. I am not very tech-savvy and not real familiar with Family Search's site.
I believe this to be the most accurate Find A Grave:
Reuben Adams (1782-1838) - Find a Grave Memorial
I think the birth and Christening records belong to the Reuben, born to Robert and Rachel (Wheeler) Adams. The only thing I have found as a source for this Reuben's birthdate, would be the inscription on his gravestone, showing he was 56 years in 1838.
I feel like these are two different Reuben's information meshed together.
Reuben Adams b. March 12, 1783 d. 1800, parents: Robert and Rachel (Wheeler) Adams
Reuben Adams b. 1782, d. November 4, 1838, parents: unknown

@dheinz You've had eyes on this for longer than me…Are any of the sources currently attached to LH2F-C3K for the Ruben who died in 1800, or are they all for the Ruben who died in 1838? Who does the birth source titled "Massachusetts, Births and Christenings, 1639-1915" belong to? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F45D-489?lang=en
There are at least two merges for Ruben Adams in the past, which is how this all happened. When I have two people with the same name and similar birthdates, I find it helpful to make a spreadsheet and make notes so I can move the sources to the correct guy. You'll need to make a new Ruben Adams so there is a place to move them.

That birth source belongs to the Reuben who died in 1800, as does the other birth source.
The other sources look to be tied to the Reuben who died in 1838.
There is a Legacy source at the bottom that has incorrect information. It is listed in the sources but has a +add next to it.
I just needed fresh eyes on this. I didn't want to try to detach the parents without someone else looking it over. Again, I am not real familiar with how to move things around and didn't want to make a mess of things. I feel confident these are two different Reuben's. There may be others who disagree and would just move it back to where it is. I have just not been able to find any source that these parents belong to this Reuben, I've only found the opposite.
There are a lot of trees on Ancestry also showing Robert and Rachel as the parents. I think most people are just copying the incorrect information from each other, instead of verifying with sources. I have looked through dozens of those trees and have not found any with a source proving the parentage.
I believe the Reuben who died in 1838, never had his birth recorded. I think someone may have just grabbed a Reuben with a close enough date of birth and used his information for this Reuben.
I'll leave it up to you, Family Search, to decide how to handle it. I do appreciate the community reaching out. Thank you so much!
