I have indexed for many years, and I too am getting used to the new program. My question being is why does it ask over and over again in the same document the same name, it will re highlight the name as if I did nothing. I get tired of re doing the same name in the same document, I don't see how this is helping. Please advise about this or show me where to find the answers.

Thank you

Others have expressed this very same complaint. So far there hasn't been any explanation as to why the redundancy, which adds alot of time to the process.

Is Full Name Review not largely about teaching AI to detect full names correctly, though? If so, that explains its wish to check a name every time it appears on an image.

MandyShaw1, for one thing, we're not just checking the name every time it appears on the page. We check every instance of the name several times. If the the name is on a simple card one time only, we still check it several times, and each time it will be highlighted differently. For another, Family Search has been using AI for years now on some projects so I don't think we're teaching it.

But what FS Computer Aided/Assisted/Automated Indexing (ignoring AI-based indexing done by third parties) has delivered so far has almost entirely been in Spanish (see, for example, https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/FamilySearch_Computer_Aided_Indexing). (This video https://www.familysearch.org/en/rootstech/session/advances-in-computer-automated-indexing-of-historical-records is also v interesting, if anyone interested in this overall topic hasn't yet seen it.) I suspect most of the work on the Spanish collections was done internally by FS. The difference now is that the process has been opened up to the wider FS community. And, honestly, the fact you're getting the same instance highlighted in different ways makes it feel even more like AI teaching to me.
