Can't access any of these records anymore

Hi

I can't seem to access several records. This can't just be for "legal reasons" because the entire folder of files is now unaccessible. Is there any actual valid reason for this?

E.g.

"South Africa, Transvaal, Estate Files, 1950-1993." Images. FamilySearch. http://FamilySearch.org : 1 October 2025. National Archives of South Africa, Pretoria.

    @JeanHuliciar

    Due to the laws changing in many countries FamilySearch is having to renegotiate contracts and agreements and until that time some of the records are not accessible. Hoping that this will happen sooner than later, but it is unknown how long until this can be fixed. Keep trying.

    @JeanHuliciar In determining what collections will or will not be made available to the public, the bottom line is that "we do not control access, the owners do". The conditions of contracts are not made available to the public. Due to constant changes, it's not always easy to specify why certain collections may not be available. For these reasons, no details are provided when restrictions are implemented.

    We have been informed that Contract and Compliance has started the process of committing significant permission changes in the following locations:

    • Belarus
    • Chile
    • Costa Rica
    • England/United Kingdom
    • Estonia
    • Guatemala
    • Latvia
