Is there an image tool to flip (mirror) an image?
Some images are mirrored (see e.g. this https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939X-SB9J-ZN?i=435) for which the image rotation tool does not help. Is there an in-house mechanism to flip/mirror an image easily while browsing? If not, how can I suggest such a feature? It seems to be a very simple upgrade but would allow users one-click correction instead of downloading and flipping in another application.

You might try following the directions in this Help Article to request that the images be corrected:
I would say it definitely falls into the "unreadable" category.

@István Jamrik Thank you for your feedback. Currently, the image rotation tool doesn’t include a flip/mirror option, so there is no in-house mechanism to make that adjustment while browsing. I’ll share your suggestion with our engineering team for consideration—this kind of input is very helpful as we look for ways to improve the experience.
In the meantime, if you need a quick workaround, one simple option is to download and print the image, then hold it up to a mirror, which will give you the corrected view without additional software.

I find that you can mirror an image very easily on Windows out of the box, with no extra software and without losing any image quality, using Paint.
Open the image in Paint and use the Flip Horizontal option here:
