How do I merge Howard L Sherwood G3MZ-KC6 and Howard T Sherwood P7ZD-VR6
I need help merging these records and correcting an indexing error. The middle initial For Howard T (for Taft) Sherwood was incorrectly transcribed in the 1910 US Census as "L".
When comparing James B Sherwood KZB5-WPS all the family members are the same:

@JohnBetts1 Here are some instructions and a video that show you how to merge two profiles in FamilySearch Tree:

The instructions for correcting an indexed record are here:

Hi John If you are sure these are the same individual, then you have to merge them by ID since they don't show up as possible duplicates. Here the detail instructions for doing that. hope this helps

Hi @JohnBetts1 You're correct that these two individuals need merging. I would just add a note to the very helpful information the others have given: when undertaking a merge it is best practice to retain the older/most complete profile.
In this case the amount of information in each is much of a muchness, however Howard L Sherwood (G3MZ-KC6) is the older profile with three different researchers already having made contributions and one person following, whilst Howard T Sherwood (P7ZD-VR6) was only created yesterday. One of the reasons this is good practice is that it preserves a fuller picture of an individual in the change logs, which is very helpful for other researchers in understanding the history of contributions to a PID and pinpointing errors, should they arise down the track.
So I would suggest you merge Howard Taft Sherwood (P7ZD-VR6) into Howard L Sherwood (G3MZ-KC6) carrying across the correct name, other information and relationships into the older PID.
I see you've made the corrections to the indexed record, so I imagine you will similarly take to the merge process with no trouble. But do sing out if you have any issues or questions.
