Geo Hints and attach does not update the Record to the Family Tree,Source?
Date - 2025 09 15. Hello, need some help please.
From Family Search, BYU Record Linking Lab, https://www.familysearch.org/en/getinvolved/
I am a Volunteer, using Geo Hints (options> easy, record hints) for one filter location=South Africa, on https://geohints.rll.byu.edu/ I think this is the MAP APP, and I am logged into Family Search.
I selected a pin on the map in the Cape area, this opens Family Search Source Linker as a new tab, for the surname.
In this tab, I VIEW IMAGE, and decide to purple-ATTACH and Blue-ATTACH button for parents and green-ADD button and Blue-ATTACH for son.
So I attached this record to the family tree for father,mother and son. It's a baptism record.
I then Close (X top of tab) Family Search.
Why, when I go back into Family Search (search>family tree>) for the members in that family tree (son is GPHZ-6WV), is there no Source Record and the Vital details are not updated?
I did a refresh. Also closed and reopened the tree.
What's step have I missed in the process?

The father appears to have this source attached by you on Sunday (and Name-tagged), so it's clearly partially worked. See https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/sources/attachedto/7R78-KZX
I would just add any additional tags you want on the father, save the source to your Source Box, and then add/tag it from there to the other two profiles concerned.
If you want us to look into this issue further you will need to provide the full source linker URL for another example, I think.
Please note for future reference that this Community doesn't typically get involved with BYU RLL-provided links/functionality, only with the specifically FS-provided elements.

Thank you. Yes all three members have the source attached and vitals have been updated correctly.
Maybe there is a delay between BYU and FS.

Puzzled - from here, the son's profile (the pid you provided) is still showing no change since 29 January 2024. Are you seeing something different?
Also, where the FS Source Linker is being used (which is definitely the case here, I have just checked), BYU has no involvement in the resulting change, which goes straight into the Family Tree using FS' own code; so I don't see how there can be a delay.
