unable to see parent relationship to deceased parent in family group tree
I created a Family Group Tree including living siblings, spouses, and in laws. This Family Group Tree includes my mother-in-law. Later, we identified information on my mother-in-law's parents. Given this, we added them in the general family tree and specified they were parents to my mother-in-law. As a note, they are deceased and therefore part of the public tree. The information is correct when looking in the general family tree, but when I use our specific Family Group Tree, my mother-in-law is shown, but it shows her without parents being defined. Is there something I need to do to refresh my mother-in-law's record in our Family Group Tree to show the relationship to her parents or is there some other way to correct this? Thanks for your help.

Since your mother-in-law is living, she has a different profile in the FamilySearch Tree (FST) than she does in your Family Group Tree (FGT). So when you connected her FST profile to her deceased parents, that had no effect on her separate FGT profile.
Probably the easiest way to fix this is to switch to your FGT, then go to your mother-in-law's profile, and then copy her Person ID to your clipboard. Then go to her deceased parents and add a child using that ID.

There is no means to automatically synchronise profiles. You can manually copy the 'correct' information from one profile to the other. However, since only you can see the FST profile of a living person, there would seem to be little to be gained by keeping that profile up to date (unless you were planning to leave your Family Group at some point, I suppose). You might want to consider deleting the FST profile to avoid having duplicate profiles.

Thank you very much. With your suggestion, I was able to ensure my mother-in-law's deceased parents are correctly visible in our Family Group Tree.
This triggers a follow on question. As you say, there is a different profile for the same living person in the FST and FGT. As I am still a novice on FamilySearch, I was not aware of this. Given this, I can see there is different information is the FST and FGT for my mother-in-law. So, my question is … Is there a way to synch the data for a persons profile on the FST and FGT?
Thanks again for your help.

Julien, thanks very much for the feedback. This clarifies the relationship between profiles in the FST and FGT. Your suggestion to remove the "duplicate" profiles from the FST is very useful. Thanks again.
