The next step to fully implement FamilySearch Family Tree on FamilySearch is to change new.familysearch.org to read-only status. This milestone occurred on December 18, 2013.

    Did you get my message. This may be a duplicate message.

    You did not include HOW TO change to Read-only. I need to do this because every time I open my Family Tree someone has made additions or "corrections" that are incorrect. When I change my Family Tree back to correct ancestors, the next time I look, another incorrect "change" has been made. I'm tired of this back-and-forth, which is just a time-waster for genealogists. Please help. Thank you.

    Thank you for your question. FamilySearch Family Tree is open-edit and collaborative. Other users may put in individuals and/or information into the Family Tree without documentation. Here are the 'How To' Instructions for new.familysearch.org Is Now read Only:

    Users have many reasons to switch from new.familysearch.org to FamilySearch Family Tree. They can:

    1. Correct information about ancestors and relationships.
    2. Find valuable records for any ancestor, right from the person page.
    3. Adds sources to ancestors with a few simple mouse clicks
    4. Add photo, documents and stories to ancestors
    5. Print fan charts, pedigrees, and family group records
