How do I locate an Alabama death record using the volume, roll, and page number?
This person is indexed incorrectly. I know because I found her once after searching for three hours. Unfortunately, I didn't know how to correct the index at that time, nor attach it to my tree. My file is corrupted and I would like to download the record again. If anyone can tell me how to do this, I would appreciate it. thank you

It might help if we knew who you wanted help finding. It's much easier to answer a specific question.
There are 2 indexes of Alabama deaths on Ancestry, and I often use those to help pinpoint the record on FamilySearch and then retrieve the image while I'm at the FSC or AL.2 -
Yes, that's what I'm trying to do. How do you locate the record on FS when you just have this? I can't pull up the record by this info, or I don't know how. I don't have a batch number or microfilm number. Also, her name is indexed incorrectly on Ancestry as well, but it's much closer than FS. Should be Wintergerst. She passed the 30 April 1925. Thank you for your help. I've pulled a ton of Alabama death certificates but not using this info, not since I used actual microfilm at a FSC.

Beulah Wintergerat
Death Date

I believe it should be on DGS 4025918.
The "Page #" on Ancestry is probably the certificate number,10045.
I'll be glad to look when I go to my FSC later this week.I've found Full-Text Search very helpful in cases like this one. I simply search on the certificate number. Even when the names are not spelled as we expect or indexed as we would hope, the certificate number is generally AI-readable.

Yes, that is the certificate number. That is a great idea! I didn't think to search the certificate number. If I make it to a FSC before you do, I'll let you know. Tysm! I'm definitely going to correct the index & attach to my tree this time.
