Fellow family historians,
I’m a genealogist-in-training trying to get better at recording family stories before they fade. I’ve been working on a small interview helper that nudges people through questions and turns notes into readable narratives.

For family historians, I’m hoping it’s useful for:

  • Recording elder family members' stories
  • Documenting your own family history journey
  • Creating narrative supplements to your FamilySearch trees
  • Preserving cultural traditions and family recipes

The tool offers free trials, making it accessible for family history projects. Has anyone else used AI tools for oral history collection? I'm curious about your experiences.

There are numerous activities to try to record family stories on FamilySearch. Starting with Record My Story. Preserving family photos. Capturing your Family Recipe stories. Using FamilySearch App to record your Family Stories, Relatives telling their past for the future. Don't be afraid to record all of your traditions even if they seem out there today a child or grandchild may cherish that memory. That is just a few things for families to do to get started.
