New Feature?
So I just noticed this coming up that never came up before. If this is a new feature here, I have to say I am clearly not on board with it. There are too many inexperienced users on this site and those who are likely to just slap that into the branches without doing any research to verify it. This could be a big problem down the line. It's likely pulling information from floating branches or branches not connected and those might be incorrect and not verified. Maybe, or maybe not, but it's a problem on other sites where people just "click and collect" thinking they have the right ones without taking time to verify and more often than not they are wrong. I'm all for getting rid of this option. Bad idea!

All the green and the dotted lines makes this look like part of the new "AI" features being developed. See: https://www.familysearch.org/en/match/ade/aiassistant under Labs. When turned on, you will see this on your homepage:
Even if you have not turned on this experiment, there may some release of its features to a certain percentage of general users.
The best place to ask more about this or comment on the feature with your concerns is here:

I hope this isn't real….

Maybe this feature needs some time to be socialized within the group. Many of us find change difficult, until we've explored it a little. This feature isn't "instant soup".
I find the new feature a helpful indicator that the sources found have the potential to create an accurate record of an actual person in the tree, and isn't any more problematic or risky than just reviewing and attaching the document. (If you've used Ancestry, you'll recognize the feature.) I like the fact that the label "Potential" is prominently displayed above the dotted box.

The only one I've seen so far is for a father listed in a marriage record. The record is attached, but I had not yet created a profile for the father. Legitimate suggestion.
On Ancestry, the suggestion comes from other trees and, often, is not supported.

I posted about this in March this year: Pedigree views, the concept of "Potential Parents" and a 404 error. (It's in the Tree Pedigree Views group so it's quite hard to find with the community Search.) There was a response from a moderator, but nothing further from FamilySearch.
