Is it possible to import a tree from My Heritage to Family Search?

I have maxed out my family tree on My Heritage, and I’d like to import it to Family Search, if it’s possible, because the thought of having to retype everything, all 251 entries, makes me want to cry, a little. Is it possible, and how can it be done? I’m not terribly computer savvy. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You will need to create a GEDCOM from your MyHeritage tree and then import that into FamilySearch.

I would caution that the import process is far from perfect, and you will likely find it faster to rekey those relatively few entries that are not already among the billions of names in the FS tree.

Another way is to export the gedcom to a software that helps to put it to FS. Rootsmagic and Ancestral Quest have free versions. But you still have to import the medias/memories, sources and notes. There is a three one but I dont recall.

BE CAREFUL! When importing gedcom, be sure it goes into section "Genealogies", not to the Tree itself.

Or you will get angry users when there are duplicates being created in the Tree forcing us the users to clean up by merging the duplicates.

In the section, Genealogies will maintain YOUR tree.

@Christina68785 Before creating and importing a GEDCOM file. please create your account on family search if you haven't already and populate your tree with the first 3 or 4 generations of your family. The reason for doing this is that Family Search/Tree is a public tree that everyone shares. You will likely find that most of your tree is already on Family Search. If so, I would not recommend loading a GEDCOM from My Heritage where your tree is already on Family Search. Please let me know if you want more information. Thanks.
