Uncompleted work
Sometimes I am not able to finish a batch before I have to stop indexing (if it's still called that). Is there a way I can save my work so I can finish it when I get back to it? I'm always afraid that uncompleted work isn't going to get finished.
Also, I type same names in a batch at least 5 times. It gets very old and really needs to be dealt with.

There is currently no way to save and come back to where you were. But when you back out of a "batch" of names, the unfinished ones go back into the pool of names. This same thing happens when you click "Unsure." All the names will get done.
When you say you type the same names in a batch at least 5 times, do you mean the name appears multiple times? Or that you are being presented the same name in the exact same position multiple times?
If it's the first, it's expected that some documents will have the name several times in the document. And those names will all be indexed.
If it's the second, this is a known issue and is being worked on.

Could you please tell the group why all of a sudden that we can't use the "not a person" in the full name indexing? I've used it many times because individual letters of the alphabet have been highlighted as well as numbers. All of a sudden, it can't be highlighted. I don't mind this way of doing indexing, but I wish that we had a choice of doing the old way or doing the new way. AI isn't all that is cracked up to be. Granted, more papers are being scanned through, but, AI isn't very accurate.

Thank you for answering my question. I now have another question for you. Sometimes, when I'm Indexing I come across a name that I'm not sure of and the box is right there under (or sometimes touching the name) and I can't see what the whole name is. Would it be possible to make it so that I can move the box when the mouse is clicked on it?
I am getting used to the "new" indexing, still prefer the old way (where there were options to choose from). Is it going to be possible to choose what we index in the future or do we just do what just pops up on the screen. I think that there are people out there who would prefer to do one thing over another. I was doing a lot of directories before the change happened and I haven't seen any come up when I've been indexing. I've done a lot of wills, and guarantors and guarantees, a few death certificates, but not any directories, military records, marriage certificates, etc. Wills are my least favorite thing to do because there is a lot of information and a lot of names and a lot of words get highlighted that are not names (ex. Mortgage)
I know that this is still the early stages of this new indexing and that y'all are still trying to work through the "kinks" in it so I'm trying to be patient in all of this. I just wish that we had the option to do what best suits us.
