How can I edit a tag name in Memories?

I've found and tried the delete tag link but the tag name is not truly deleted but only detached.

Up until recently, you were able to edit a Tag Name. But some recent upgrades have changed the process.
Let me talk with the Engineers and see what kind of options are now available.

Again, my apologies for your struggles with Tagging.
This once was an easy fix. Below are steps that should also be able to fix a wrong tag name, but it isn’t very easy or intuitive. I’ll keep searching for a better way, but for now, here is my best offering:
- Delete the tag that has the incorrect name.
- Click in the Memory to create a new tag, BUT when you start typing the CORRECT name, do NOT click on any of the names generated in the tag pop-up box.
- Continue to write the correct name completely. At the bottom of the tag pop-up box, you will see an option to “Add New” as well as the name you have typed. Click the box next to the “Add New,” then click “Tag Selected” at the bottom of the pop-up.
- In the right side-bar, you will see the new tag. Click the “Attach to Tree” link. Then insert the correct Person ID number.
- Now, both the tag and the tag name will be the same.

How can we delete a tagged name that is left over from a delete operation? Example: Go to person LKFF-8ZC, and in her Memories is a photo of an obituary. We need to delete the incorrect tag for Agnes Rose Friel, but I do not see a way to do that. It was inadvertently tagged to Agnes MR2J-5M2, and then removed—but the tag name remains.

So sorry for this inconvenience. Yes, this is a problem.
Here is the latest information my Engineer has given me:
"There is no way to change the tag name right now. We are working on bringing this feature back, and on making it easier to find and use."
"The only time they should delete tags is if two different people were added to the SAME tag. So if I tagged myself but that tag includes my PID and my husband's PID. Then I have to delete all the corrupted tags and start again from scratch, because there's no other way to split the two people apart."
Again, sorry that there is currently no easy fix!
