Can hints be restricted to what you want?

My hints seem endless. Is there a way to restrict hints to direct line or first cousins only?

It is the design of FamilySearch that your hints will be endless. As you deal with your current set of hints, the system will look ever more deeply to find new hints for you.

There are a variety of ways to find hints. These aren't exactly the filters you are asking for, but you can:

    • use the fan chart view in conjunction with the Research Hints focus to see hints for your direct line.
    • use the descendancy view on the website, or the Descendants with Tasks feature on the Tree app to find hints for your cousins descended from a particular common ancestor.
