The "maid, doctor, student" are simply occupations of the people listed so those people are indexed. Sometimes you'll see the name of the company they work for after their name, but the listing is for the person. When a company name (which is not indexed) is before a person name, skip that listing. Anyone named in the company listing would not be indexed.

Residents are people like John Smith, Carl Jones and Brian Andrews. Businesses are things like The John Smith Furniture Company, Jones & Thomas and Brian's Shoe Company. We do not, and have never, indexed occupations or addresses. The researcher will be able to see both when s/he views the record.
