Can you tell me what the name of the person who received the "balance due" money? I am thinking it is Catherine, but I'm not sure, so I'm looking for other eyes.

  I agree: it's Catharine Stewart, with all of the crossbars of the 't's displaced horizontally about one letter, making it look like "Caltıarine Slēwarl-".
