Why make more steps?
I have been using the Memory Uploader function frequently, and it seems like recent changes are making it harder, not easier. :(
I understand the need to specify Public or Private. That's not a problem because I can just hit the default and continue.
In uploading photos, my usual procedure was to choose (from the Memories tab) Add Memories > Add Photo or Document > Select Files [previously it was "From My Device"]. I choose my file and upload. Then it prompts for Title, Description, Place, and Date. But it doesn't go into that person's Memories. It only goes into the Gallery. So then I have to take another step and go through the whole process again to upload from the Gallery into the person's Memories.
After doing this a few times, I discovered that if I don't enter the Title, etc. up front—but just move on—it does upload to Memories. So please just get rid of that pop-up and add in the extra info later like it used to be. (I think it's less confusing to do the descriptions later, because then I can look at the photo while I'm describing it. )

I tested what you wrote.
Following your instructions and ADDING TITLE/DESCRIPTION….Initially, it appears the memory has not been uploaded into that person's Memory tab, but all I needed to do was refresh/reload the page. Then it appeared.
Following your instructions and NOT adding title/description….Yes, the memory uploaded right away, and I also got another (that I was waiting on) to upload as well.
I think the system is just taking a while to process.
Can you give it a try with refreshing/reloading your page, then let me know if you are still having complications. And I will let the engineers know about this situation.

Thanks Amber. Yes, it did work after reloading.
I do think, though, that reloading should not be necessary. Can they just take out the popup screen? As I said, it's just an extra step (or 2, since you have to refresh the screen).
Is it taking longer for my photos to upload because I have a lot in my Gallery? (I have heard that is an issue.) Maybe that's what needs to be addressed.

I'll ask the Engineers what, specifically, the problem might be. I agree, hopefully we won't always need to refresh the page.
While we wait for an answer, I'll log this on the Known Issues - Memory Uploader.

The engineers have not put in several updates to the Memory Uploader. One of them is that you no longer need to "refresh" your page when you upload a Memory with a title/description. Those now appear as soon as you upload.
