@SerraNola

Record set: New Jersey, Reclaim the Records, Geographic Birth Index, 1901-1929

https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/4461588

Specific example: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6NS9-ZLGP

The unnamed Mohan child was born in Kearny, Hudson County, New Jersey on 23 August 1916. Kearny has been misindexed as Kerny.

Kearny is in Hudson County. Hudson County was formed out of Bergen County in 1840, but the placename standardizer has put the birth in Bergen County.

    @Áine Ní Donnghaile Got it, thanks. Every misspelled place name and many that were just indexed as New Jersey became Bergen, New Jersey in search results. Go figure.
