Replying to a request to Connect

Someone reached out to connect with me. I do not know who they are, and when I try to reply yes to connect…. I am not able to do so. The system tells me that my options are to add a friend, or find them via Family Tree Edits?

Not sure how to complete the yes reply and connect.

Thank you,
Pamela Mills

Was it perhaps a "request to view relationship" message? That's talking about a global account setting. (Click your name-and-avatar at the top right of a main FS page, choose Settings, then Permissions, and set the second slider to "on" [blueish].)

Otherwise, "add a friend" and "connect" sound at least vaguely synonymous …?

Was this internal to FamilySearch? Or in some kind of an e-mail? Can you post a screen shot of the request (with names of living people blocked out) so we can see where in the program this is? I haven't done much with the social media aspects of FamilySearch but would be interested is seeing what this was.
