@Dennis J Yancey has posted:

I notice this relatively new item popping up when person tagging an item . . .
BUT I also notice "Hide until next sign on" doesnt really work
usually when I go to a new item - it again shows up.
it gets pretty annoying as often as it pops up.
Please ensure this item only shows once per sign-in at the very most.
(I use Google Chrome with Windows on a Full screen computer)

    Hi @Dennis J Yancey

I've tried this in several different ways, but I can't seem to replicate what you described. I do see it if I log out of FS and then log back in, but the alert notice already warns of that.

I'll keep testing. And I'll share with my team.

Please let me know if you figure out any methods to get yours to re-create. Thanks for the help!

I do notice if you consistently open a new tab - from an existing FS tab -
that you will continuously get the message every time you open new tab

opening a new tab from an existing tab of FS memories on a repetitive task is a common scenario.

and technically opening a new tab is not a new sign on - so - I would hope no matter how many tabs you open it would not matter - but would all count as one sign on - and one display of the pop up.

Yep, following your instruction to "Open link in new tab" (using the same PID and still logged in), I keep getting the same alert as you did.

I'll let the team know. And thanks for catching this one!

Be aware, though. The Engineers have warned me that updates to Memory Viewer and Tagging might take a bit longer than usual to correct. But we are keeping a log of everything that needs updating. Thanks for the patience!

I have this problem with every single tag I do, even if I never leave the page I'm tagging on. Basically you're starting over with every tag, and the "Hide Until Next Sign-in" is meaningless.

Just an update on the "Hide until next sign-in" check-mark box.

If you click this check-mark, you won't see the "Tagging a Memory" pop-up notice if you stay on the same page. However, you will see this notice again if you open a new tag or a new page.

This might be inconvenient, but this is the choice FamilySearch leaders feel most comfortable with. They want to make sure users are aware of "visibility settings" when they begin tagging. As such, the "Tagging a Memory" pop-up box will continue to display frequently.

Thanks for participating in our group!
