The same person is listed twice with the same PID

We detected a possible relationship issue in the Family Tree.

It seems unlikely that the following relationships could exist at the same time:

There are two persons in the tree with the same id: Mary Elizebeth Seeley (L2Y7-WWM) and Mary Elizebeth Seeley (L2Y7-WWM).

If our analysis is correct, the historical record was incorrectly transcribed. Here is what to do:

  1. Review the names and relationships you see in Family Tree.
  2. Correct any mistakes you see
  3. If you know the information is correct, proceed to attach.

How can two (Mary Elizabeth Seeley) have the same PID (L2Y7-WWM)?

I do not see how I could have done this.

That error message is a known problem. The engineers are working on a solution - hoping to have it fixed by next week.

I've seen this sometimes when a person has two sets of parents listed.

That particular error message has shown up for unrelated issues. There are at least 3 current threads.

The cause of the message in your example is that Mary Elizebeth Seeley (L2Y7-WWM) is both the wife of Nathan Thomas Branch (L2YQ-YPD) and his (half?) sister; their mother is Katherine Ellen Nellie Manning (L2YQ-ZVR). This error message is recognized as being illogical. This is a screenshot from the descendancy view:

If you can correct the relationship, the error message will stop occurring.

I presume that this message arose when you were trying to attach a source to Nathan. If that source is relevant, you can still attach it by clicking the "proceed to attach" link in the message.

Thank you. I removed Mary Elizabeth Seely [L2Y7-WWM] as a daughter from an unknown father and Kathern Ellie Manning [L2YQ-ZVR]. I am guessing the engineers are trying to give a better error message.

Can a mod confirm that the engineers have a ticket for this misleading error message issue, please? @Ashlee C.
