Bug Report: Sources Side Panel

I'm fairly sure this is new today or maybe I haven't needed to make use of this recently.

If I open the the Sources side panel on a person's profile page, check a source, then see something I wish to add to a data field entry, such as making a comment about birth information, when I click on the pencil edit icon to open the edit pop up, then the Sources side panel scrolls to the top of the open source which hides the information I was going to use in my comment.

The side panel needs to stay in place and not move when an edit box is opened.

Macbook Pro, M2 processor, macOS 14.5, Safari 17.5.

    Can confirm. (Win10, Firefox.)

In addition, the edit popup for alternate names is too wide: on my screen and zoom settings, even if the Sources tool's panel stayed put, I would be guessing at the first two characters of every line (that I peered at through the applied grey haze).

Clearly, the intended workflow does not use the Sources tool for editing, but that leaves a question: what do they intend for us to do with that side panel?
