My German family had to flee their home town of Grunberg in Schlesien, Germany following WWII. Wondering how I can research the Hering family. My mother, Waltraud Hering was born in Grunberg January 6, 1922. She and her brother, Herbert, were relocated to Wahleim , Germany along with her mother Helene.

Wondering how I can research info from my home in USA.

There might be some information in the website Familienforschung in Schlesien http://www.christoph-www.de/index.htm German language

The specific page http://www.christoph-www.de/kbsilesia3.html mentions Grunberg (Scroll down)

@Kelvin4483 I have ancestors from the same area in Liegnitz and have never found any records. If they were Catholic you might locate records in the FS catalog under Zielona Gora.

Did you mean Walheim, Hessen as the place where they relocated?

Thank you, I believe it to be Walheim in the district of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wurttemberg. They were of the Lutheran faith. Unfortunate, but it appears our past has been erased forever. Thanks for responding.
