    Ability to Edit a photo that someone else uploaded?

    Jaelene Starr

    April 24, 2024 edited August 22, 2024 in Social Groups

    I remember hearing a while back that the ability to edit a photo that someone else entered was a feature that was being worked on. With an entirely new viewer, I would think it would be a good time for that feature to be available.

    Some people have passed on, or rarely look back at photos that they entered. There needs to be a way to correct/add the date, the most important edit in my opinion. Also to edit other things such as spelling. Yesterday a patron saw a photo with her father in it, but his name was spelled incorrectly in the title. Drove her nuts, but there is no way for her to correct it.

      frankly - I would not want other people updating my memories items.

      I do wish we could tell if a user acccount represented a deceased person - and in such cases - maybe certain restrictions could be slighly reduced.

      but its a slippery slope - and once you allow one thing to happen (that you think is a good thing) - ten bad things are then allowed to happen . . .

      and in the case of the photo with the bad label
      down load it, edit it, reupload it - and un-person-tag the bad photo.
      (all done without editing the exact memories item "owned" by someone else - rather editing a copy)

      @Jaelene Starr @Dennis J Yancey

      Regarding the issue of whether someone will be able to edit another person's Memory, all I can say is that the Engineers are considering this option. No further details yet. Thanks!
