I logged on today expecting to see a landing page that shows what's new about my ancestors (what other people have added as memories which isn't necessarily new) and on the right, a column that shows ancestors with Record Hints or resources waiting to be looked at and beneath people I have recently worked on. I've been working on that right column top box mostly. Instead the landing page is very different. There is a block for Ancestor Search. Another below for Search Australian Records and in the side column, Discover your families history and beneath that fun family trees. I'd really like to go back to the page it was showing yesterday (about 24 hours ago) with the list of record hints for ancestors and relatives as I like to work from that block. Is there somewhere else I can find it?

Thanks

I believe that anyone can see the hints list by going to https://www.familysearch.org/en/home/tasks

I'm still seeing the same homepage format as usual (with the same photograph of my great-grandfather that's been there for six years now).

Are you certain you're signed in? What happens if you refresh/reload the page?

    @TinaDubinsky

Yes, our Home of Landing Page, in Australia, has changed, as of Yesterday.

    image.png

    NO Record Hints

    NO Recent People

    NO To Do List

    NO Chat with Friends

NO Memories add by other Users

    Etc ...

And, NO way to revert or way to get to that which is missing

Oh; and, the URL has change to.

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/home/portal/

We may be comparing apples and oranges. @Julia Szent-Györgyi and I are not members of the LDS faith, so we have the non-member home page. The screenshots above all appear to be from the church member home page.

What happens if you use the same URL as I did (https://www.familysearch.org/en/)?

    Automatically go to

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/home/portal/

    When one Logs In

    Starts off with

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/australia/

Before one starts to Log In

    @Julia Szent-Györgyi

And, deleting the Country suffix, in the URL, before one Logs, in makes NO difference.

Even, changing the Country suffix, in the URL, before one Logs in, to another Country, makes NO difference.

@Jenny.B When I clicked on your first link (with portal), I was redirected immediately to https://www.familysearch.org/en/ And from your 2nd link (with Australia), the same redirect to https://www.familysearch.org/en/

Have you tried clearing your FS cookies and cache, closing and then reopening your browser?

Edit to add: I'm based in the US.

    Yes

Using Windows10 & either Chrome or FireFox, makes NO difference - all Up-to-Date, with latest versions

@Jenny B. I'm based in Germany and can verfify this behaviour as you described. It's also thru if I use Germany instead of Australia.

    Hi @Jenny B., @Áine Ní Donnghaile, @Lars van Ravenzwaaij and Julia Szent-Györgyi

Thanks for confirming that you're seeing this too. I am also not a member of the LDS faith. I was getting the page Julia shows but I'm now getting the new page for Australia. I really enjoyed seeing the former page with record hints. The record hints are useful for developing the tree and finding connections I don't often look into. Yes, I am logged in correctly. I was attaching records to German and Dutch family connections yesterday. I corrected a couple of names due to transcription errors. I noticed some records were originally created in Dutch when doing so. Just thought I would mention this incase there is any connection, although I'm guessing there's a new home page based on country now.

Is there any other way to view the list of record hints?

    @Alan E. Brown

Yes, thank you for that access to at least the Tasks.

    Not asking you personally.

But, what about the, To Do List, Recents, Chat with Friends, etc that could ALL be accessed from our Home Landing page?

We found the To Do List at

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/home/to-do/
    image.png

But there was nothing listed until one selected either Records or Temple or both.

    We found the Recents at

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/home/recents/
    image.png

At least that was already populated.

What about the others, Chat with Friends; Memories add by other Users; etc.

That were ALL easily viewable and accessible from our previous version of Home or Landing page?

Now we have to use those URLs to access the the, Hints; and, To Do, rather than directly from our Home or Landing page

Yes, they can be Bookmarked (and, Recents is also accessible from a Drop Down or Other submenus); but, why should we have to do that, when the System worked perfectly fine in our pervious version of the Home or Landing page.

Why was this change forced upon (some of) us and not all (mind you); especially, without any warning or worse way to revert back?

Did not need many of the things that now appear on our Home or Landing page; especially, if one is an active member, doing their Family History and attending the Temple; nor, a Youth or YSA.

eg. Area Focus; Prepare for the House of the Lord; Message from the Area Presidency to Youth and YSAs; Discover Your Family's History; Getting Started in your Australian Research.

The, Area Focus; Prepare for the House of the Lord; and, Message from the Area Presidency to Youth and YSAs, are all fine on the Website of the Church, when one accesses the Church website; but, not needed in FamilySearch.

    Feedback was been provided.

Please give us back the our previous version of Home or Landing page or at least a way to revert back to it.

Yes thanks from me too Alan, I really do use this feature a great deal, and I liked having it on the Landing page, along with another place to find recents and any pictures etc others may have put up relating to my family. I guess I will need to bookmark this link as I cannot find a link to it anywhere on the webpage, if you can tell me how you found it please respond, and thanks again.

In addition, I am able to bookmark this recents page and open itfrom the link , however FYI at the top of the same page is a link which says back to homepage, that takes me back to

My homepage (Australia) has changed and I can't find record hints anymore. Where can I find them now?
