Indexing City Directories, see also names

If the entry has a name and then says "see also..." and lists other possible spellings of the name, do I index each different spelling with "Or" in between? The "see also" seems to be just a help for those looking up names in the directory, not a different spelling of the name for the people listed.

I interpret those "see also" entries as you do: it's specifically saying that the people listed do not have those surnames. They should therefore not be indexed as those people's surnames.
