Hey everyone,

About a month ago we got to work on some 1860, 1870, and 1880 U. S. Census Mortality Schedules, which were great! Unfortunately, though, I didn't realize they'd be unavailable after they were all finished being transcribed, and they are nowhere to be found yet. I am in my case speaking specifically of NC schedules, but I remember doing some for Louisiana and at least one other southern state as well.

Is there any chance they'll become available to us online in time? Or were they transcribed to be used on-site only? I haven't experienced this before so I don't know if there's a delay or anything once new waves of files are completed and submitted for good.

Thanks!

We rarely learn when a collection will be online - or what is in the pipeline. In some cases, it has taken several years from the time I helped index a project until it appeared online.

It can be a lengthy and complicated process between the indexing and the publishing (online appearance) of a collection. In the meantime, many US Mortality Schedules are available on other websites, most of which can be used at your local public library if you are not a subscriber
